How to perform the barbell calf raise correctly and safely which will help prevent injury.
Muscles Involved in order of importance:
Stand on the wooden block allowing your heels to hang of the edge of the platform with the bar across your traps not your neck.
Lift the weight by raising your heels as high as possible trying to keep your legs straight.
Slowly lower the weight back to the starting position, be certain to keep the movement slow and strict.
If you are a beginner then I suggest you do not do this exercise as it is quite advance. You can also do this exercise on the smith machine.
Safety: Doing this exercise should be done with a spotter if you think the weight will be a bit too much, I also have a spotter when doing this exercise just to be on the safe side.
