Leg Curls: how to perform the leg curl Exercise

How to perform leg curls correctly and safely which will help prevent injury.

Muscles Involved in order of importance:

  • Hamstrings
  • Glutes
  • Calf
Sit on the machine and put your heels over the rollers, your knees should just be over the edge of the seat. Bend your knees back towards your gluts (bum), then slowly lower your heels back to the starting position. If possible try to control the weight on the downward and upward movement, try not to kick your heels back really fast.

Safety: Doing this exercise should be done with a spotter if you think the weight will be a bit too much, I also have a spotter when doing this exercise just to be on the safe side.

I run for my aerobic exercise. You can run, walk, dance; whatever you prefer. Just be certain to do aerobics at least 3 – 4 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes each workout. If you are using HIIT or something on that order, obviously you will be spending less time getting in your aerobics.
