Why performing crunches alone won’t reveal your abs

Working your abs alone is not sufficient to reveal the muscle hidden beneath the layer of fat. In fact it only plays a small role

Me a year back

Working your abs alone is not sufficient to reveal the muscle hidden beneath the layer of fat. In fact it only plays a small role. The key to 6 pack abs is nutrition!  Hard to believe? Well believe it! Think of your body as a water bottle, and fat as water. When you start filling the bottle with water, the bottom end fills up first. Think of the bottom end as your abdominal region. Now when you try to empty it, the bottom end empties out last. Sadly this is the truth. It takes time to shed all the excess fat and get to your lean body. Consistency in good diet and workouts alone can get you that ripped look.

Usually, hereditary characteristics dictate areas in your body that accumulate fat. Typically it accumulates around the abdominal region (the little pouch and those love handles). In wo-men it is also evident around the thighs, butt, back of the hand or triceps, and hips.
It is physically impossible to burn fat off one area of your body simply by targeting it. You have to burn calories by working your whole body, as this would burn more calories than target training. This is especially true for beginners who spend countless routines performing multiple sets and reps of crunches just to reveal some detail.

Bottom line: You can`t reveal your abs simply by performing crunches. 6 Pack abs are made in the kitchen not at the gym. Eat lean quality food, avoid sugar, bad sources of carbohydrates, bad fats and get closer to that beach body you have so eagerly been seeking.

I run for my aerobic exercise. You can run, walk, dance; whatever you prefer. Just be certain to do aerobics at least 3 – 4 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes each workout. If you are using HIIT or something on that order, obviously you will be spending less time getting in your aerobics.
