When you start bodybuilding there are probably different reasons for doing so. Maybe you want to build up your muscles or maybe you just want to keep fit and healthy. Everyone starts for a different reason. Many people get instantly hooked and take it up as an almost full time hobby. When you start to get serious then you may consider entering bodybuilding competitions and win money and prizes.

These will require you to do some really hard training though to make sure your body is at it’s upmost peak. Your muscles will have to be bulging and there mustn't be much sign of any fat on your body. Of course, having a tan to show off will put you in good stead also. If you aren’t fortunate enough to live in a climate where you can top up your tan, then you can always consider hiring a sunbed or visiting a tanning salon. This won’t take too much time, as usually 20-30 minutes each day will soon get you a nice brown tanned co-lour.

If you want to avoid any risk of sunbeds then of course you can try out one of the many spray on tanning solutions. These are very cheap and can be used very close to a competition. Just be sure not to use one that runs as this will be very embarrassing if your nice brown tanned co-lour starts to run when you are doing your routine.

The next thing you will have to do for your bodybuilding competition is to practice your routine. You will need to produce a routine of just a few minutes where you can flex all your muscles to the judges and crowd. This will generally be done to music so it may take you a little practice to get it right. It is best to learn your routine and practice it as often as you can to make sure you get it right on the big day. Once you have competed in a few bodybuilding competitions, you’ll soon get the hang of what you must do and improve on for the next one.

I run for my aerobic exercise. You can run, walk, dance; whatever you prefer. Just be certain to do aerobics at least 3 – 4 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes each workout. If you are using HIIT or something on that order, obviously you will be spending less time getting in your aerobics.
